Michiko Shimada

Michiko Shimada is Brooklyn based product designer, originally from Japan, she attended Parsons School of Design. Since 2009 she has been focusing on her own line of handmade ceramics and specializing in slip cast ceramics. Each whimsical item conveys simplicity, practicality and beauty. She believes in the importance of products that are made by hand in small batches in a world where everything is mass produced. Craftsmanship is key, the entire process is done by hand in the Brooklyn studio.
